新しい先生が教材を作ってくれました！

「みなとGlocal」では、小学校に入る前の子どもから高校生まで、
たくさんの子どもたちとオンラインで一緒に勉強しています。

平仮名やカタカナから勉強する子ども。
小学校・中学校の算数や数学、英語、社会、理科などを使いながら、日本語を勉強する子ども。
そして、高校進学などの目標に向かって、受験勉強に取り組む子ども。

一人ひとり、年齢も、日本語のレベルも、好きなことも、苦手なことも、勉強したいことも千差万別です。

だから、「みなとGlocal」のレッスンは、先生と子どもが1対1で学ぶことを原則です。

担当の先生は、子どもの話をよく聞きながら、好きなもの、苦手なこと、興味のあること、
そして「これから何ができるようになりたいか」を丁寧に耳を高向けて、
その子に合った教材を先生自身が作ったり、探したりして準備します。

カラフルで、子どもが「これ、好き！」と思えるようなイラストを使ったり、
学校や生活ですぐに使える日本語を取り入れたり。

その子にとって「今、大切な日本語」を考えながら、教材を作っていきます。

つまり「みなとGlocal」の教材は、基本的に一人ひとりの子どものために作るオーダーメードの教材です。
同じ日本語を勉強する場合でも、子どもによって「分かりやすい方法」は違います。

だからこそ、先生がその子のことをよく知り、その子のために考えて作った教材は、
単に日本語を覚えるためだけのものではなく、子どもの心にも届くのではないかと思います。

７月から「みなとGlocal」に参加してくださった先生も、早速、子どものために教材を作ってくれました。
担当する小学生の男の子は、今、すごい勢いで日本語が上達しています。
そんな彼のために先生がこの教材を使って、どんなレッスンが始めるのか！とても楽しみです。

子どもが「分かった！」「できた！」と笑顔になる時間。
先生と子どもが、一緒に考え、一緒に学びながら、少しずつ信頼関係を作っていく時間。
そんな素敵な時間が、これからたくさん生まれていけばいいなと思っています。

At "Minato Glocal," we study online with a wide range of children, from those yet to enter elementary school to high school students.

Some children are just starting out by learning hiragana and katakana.

Others study Japanese while working on subjects like arithmetic, mathematics, English,
social studies, and science at the elementary and junior high school levels.

Then there are those tackling entrance exam preparation with goals
such as advancing to high school.

Every child is unique—varying widely in age, Japanese proficiency, likes, dislikes, and
what they wish to study.

That is why "Minato Glocal" lessons are conducted on a one-on-one basis
between the teacher and the child.

The teacher carefully listens to the child—paying close attention to their likes, dislikes, interests, and the skills they want to develop—and then prepares learning materials tailored specifically to them, either by creating the materials personally or finding existing ones.

They incorporate colorful illustrations that appeal to the child
and include Japanese expressions that can be used immediately in school or daily life.

The materials are crafted with a focus on the Japanese language skills
that are most important for that particular child at that moment.

In short, the teaching materials used by "Minato Glocal"
are essentially custom-made for each individual child.

Even when studying the same Japanese content, the methods
that make the material easiest to understand vary from child to child.

That is precisely why materials created by a teacher who knows the child well—
and has tailored the content specifically for them—
do more than just help them learn the language;
they also resonate with the child on a personal level.

A teacher who joined "Minato Glocal" in July has already created custom materials for their student.

The elementary school boy they are working with is currently making rapid progress
in his Japanese studies.

I am very excited to see the kind of lessons the teacher will conduct using these materials!

Those moments when a child smiles and exclaims, "I get it!" or "I did it!"

Those times when teacher and child think and learn together,
gradually building a relationship of trust.

I hope to see many more wonderful moments like these unfold in the future.
